Lunchtime in Gastown- Finch’s

24 May The Kitschy Interior of Finch's

In today’s post I plan on drooling over some of my favourite lunchtime spots in my old stopping ground, Gastown. If you haven’t been to these places and work around the corner, drop what you’re doing, and GO!!

First on the list is Finch’s -353 West Pender  St. 604-899-4040One of the best sandwich spots in the city.  If you’re tight on time and gotta make it back to the office, better call in your order, because this place is slammed all lunch hour.

Finch’s small corner unit on Pender, offers up hand crafted, made to order sandwiches in a kitschy vintage eatery with limited seating space which includes a large communal table.  If your looking for an intimate lunch spot, this isn’t it.  What you can expect is that this delicatessent offers up some of the most perfectly created sandwiches I have ever had.

Often made on your choice of white or multigrain baguette, they use premium ingredients such as, blue brie, prosciutto,  roasted walnuts, and Applewood cheddar.  Their menu boasts a variety of classics done with a gourmet twist, and everyone has their favourite.  My personal go-to is the Full Vegetarian which included; 1/2 an Avocado, lined with a row of cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes, cheddar and dijon-mayo, garnished with green leaf lettuce.

Other favourites include the baked brie and grape, their amazingly fresh soups in the winter, and the Baked blue brie, roasted walnut and prosciutto.

Check out their menu below and be sure to visit them, especially if you’re new to Vancouver, it’s tucked away and unless someone tells you about it, you could walk right by and miss this mouth watering institution.
